Most of us have to deal with under eye dark circles at some point of time. They are two primary causes of dark circles; namely when blood vessels become prominent in this area and when excess pigment is produced from melanocytes. The skin under your eyes is the thinnest skin as compared to skin on other parts of your body, which results in blood vessels being seen through the skin in this area – a condition commonly known as 'dark circles'.

Various skin care products are available on the market for treating dark circles. Some of them promise to reduce dark circles within a week or less. While, this is not impossible, but it is better to take a safer route to treating your condition and choose products that make believable and verifiable claims.

Treatment of dark circles

The most efficient way to treat dark circles is to treat the fundamental problem. In case you are suffering from any kind of allergy, you should see a physician.
  • Medications: Generally the medications prescribed for any allergy or nasal sprays are effective. Treatment for dark circles.
  • Stay away from the sun: It is very important that you protect yourself from direct sunlight. Whatever the problem is, direct exposure to the sun will only add to it.
  • Creams: Many creams promise to clear up dark circles on your face, but most of them fail, when it comes to delivering as per their promises. It is better to ask your local makeup specialist, dermatologists, or medical experts for products that will eliminate dark circles and enhance your appearance.
  • Conceal them: Concealing the dark circles is also an alternative, which is exploited by many. Proper sleep and a good diet with the requisite nutrients results in reduction of dark circles.
  • Ayurveda: There are two types of Ayurvedic treatments which are available i.e. Skin rejuvenation and body detoxification. Herbal eye gels also help a lot if you wish to reduce dark circles.
  • Detoxify your body: Dark circles under the eyes are formed because of accumulation of toxins in the body, which need to be removed. When these toxins are eliminated and the blood is purified, skin texture improves and your skin is rejuvenated.
